Jim Graham

The New Haven Symphony Orchestra has selected David Amado as one of three finalists for the music director post now held by William Boughton, who will be stepping down in May 2019. David and two other music director candidates will guest conduct the NHSO in the 2017-18 season.

David Amado has served as the music director of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra since 2003, and in his time there has transformed it into a premier regional orchestra. He is also director of conducting programs at the Atlantic Music Festival in Maine and music director of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra in Florida. David served as associate conductor of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra from 1998 to 2004.

The New Haven Symphony will announce the program and performance date of David's 2017-18 guest engagement at the time of its full-season announcement in March 2017.
