Misha & Cipa Dichter to Premiere Mendelssohn "Songs Without Words" at Ravinia

Prince Albert and Queen Victoria with Felix Mendelssohn (standing)

Pianists Misha & Cipa Dichter will premiere a selection of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, in the composer's own four-hand version, at the Ravinia and Aspen Festivals in June and August, 2009, respectively.

The Dichters retain exclusive rights to perform Mendelssohn's Seven Songs Without Words, Op. 62 and 67 for piano four-hands through 2011. Mendelssohn dedicated and presented these four-hand arrangements to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, both pianists, in 1844.
