Recorded in 2013, Unto Thee I Burn, the fourth release to see the light of day arising from the partnership of Presidential Scholar in the Arts soprano Eileen Strempel and Québec native, Eastman School Asst. Prof. of Chamber Music & Accompanying pianist Sylvie Beaudette features songs settings of e.e. cummings poetry set to music by North American Women composers. One of Americas pre-eminent 20th c. poets, cummings was also an accomplished painter; one of his paintings adorns the albums cover. Ms. Strempel is a noted scholar of song literature, especially those by women composers.
